Summary
[edit]DescriptionCharles House - Due for Destruction by Haringey Council.jpg |
English: One of the blocks on the Love Lane Estate, Tottenham N17.
Haringey Council plans the demolition of all homes on the Love Lane Estate, including the block of flats above Coombes Croft library and the library itself. This is part of Haringey Council's plan to "regenerate" Tottenham by destroying and blighting as many homes as possible. The Council plans to create a walkway for Tottenham Hotspur football club from White Hart Lane Station to the new stadium which may be built one day.. The area is now referred to in the Council's destruction plans as: "High Road West". Obliterating the former name before they destroy the past. Or perhaps they will invent a new fake past. _______________________________________ § "The past is a foreign country: they do things differently there". The first sentence of "The Go Between" by LP Hartley. |
