Français : "Le fils de Charles IV, duc de Lorraine, Charles Henri de Lorraine, prince de Vaudémont (1649-1723) reçut du duc de Lorraine Léopold en 1707 le château de Commercy. Il y fait de nombreux travaux en s'attachant les services des architectes parisiens Nicolas Dorbay et Jean-Nicolas Jabot. Le mécénat de Charles Henri de Lorraine est le plus brillant qu'ait connu Commercy. Il a marqué l'urbanisme et l'architecture de la ville."
