Charles is wearing a frock coat and sitting down. Theresa has a high chignon and wearing a black dress with a pleated hemmed skirt. Charles was born in December 10, 1824. Theresa was born in March 5, 1827. They were both born in Saxony, Germany. They immigrated to Ohio in 1848 and they had gotten married in 1848 in Ohio. They had a son named Charles in 1847 before they immigrated. She had 8 children but 7 were only living. Charles was listed in the Civil War Draft Registration in 1863, when he was 39 years old. He was a farmer. They lived in Franklin, Ohio and died there. Charles is in his early 60s and Theresa is in her late 50s in the photograph. Photograph was taken by John A Pfeifer. John A Pfeifer (1859 – 1932) was active in photography in Columbus (Franklin) from about 1882 to at least 1922. During much of that period, he was the coproprietor, with George C. Urlin, of “Mammoth Art Palace” on High Street. Pfeifer was born in Columbus, December 11, 1859 and died there January 21, 1932. |
