Asks Probers For Parkway. New Shrewsbury, New Jersey; September 1, 1955. D. Louis Tonti, acting executive director of the New Jersey Highway Authority, Authority, said yesterday he will recommend recommend the appointment of investigators to speed up a survey of administrative practices and procedures within the authority's right of way division. Mr. Tonti said he prefers not to mention the names of persons under consideration for such employment lest the publication of their names interfere with their investigatory work. The survey was initiated by order order of Mr. Tonti a few months ago and has been carried out by members of the staff only. It is believed the authority, which operates the Garden State Parkway, may act on Mr. Tonti's recommendation today. One result of the survey to date has been the suspension and subsequent resignation of Charles F. Lindauer, of Paterson, a supervisor of the right of way division. Mr. Lindauer declined a public hearing hearing on reasons for his suspension. No formal charges have been made against him.
