He was an Australian rules footballer who played with South Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL), and with Essendon Town Football Club in the and Victorian Football Association (VFA). A private in the First AIF, he was killed in action during the very first landings at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915. |
