Bords du schorre, sur la rive droite de l’Escaut maritime, à Lillo
Le schorre (terrain qui n’est inondé qu’aux fortes marées) est entamé par les courants. Sur le bord, on voit la stratification horizontale des alluvions argileuses. – A gauche, dans la portion où les courants ont enlevé les couches supérieures, des restes d’organes végétaux souterrains ont été mis à nu : ce sont surtout des rhizomes de Scirpus maritimus.
La slikke (terrain qui est inondé à chaque marée) est en ce moment recouverte presque complètement.

Au loin, la rive gauche de l’Escaut.
