Aspect chétif de la végétation d'une panne, à La Panne
Trois des espèces photographiées habitent aussi les régions à sol riche, par exemple les polders; elles restent beaucoup plus chétives dans les pannes. Ce sont :
Lysimachia vulgaris (au milieu), atteignant dans les polders 1m50; ici 0m55. (Les individus photographiés ont les fleurs châtrées par un Phytoptide.)
Lythrum Salicaria (à gauche), atteignant dans les polders 1m25; ici 0m40.
Mentha aquatica (vers la gauche, en bas), atteignant dans les polders 0m80; ici 0m10.
La présence d'espèces caractéristiques des terrains humides (Parnassia palustris, Hydrocotyle vulgaris) indique que les plantes ne souffrent pas du manque d'eau.
La photographie porte aussi Hippophaës rhamnoides (à droite et à gauche, en haut), et Salix repens

(au milieu).
