Les dunes comparées aux pannes, à La Panne
Crête de dune, très sèche et fortement attaquée par le vent, séparant deux pannes. Dans celles-ci le sol reste toujours plus ou moins humide, à cause de la proximité de la couche imperméable d’argile poldérienne qui s’étend partout sous les dunes. La panne de droite est la moins profonde ; elle n’est jamais inondée en hiver ; sa végétation est abondante. Dans celle de gauche, l’eau souterraine affleure chaque hiver ; elle porte une végétation beaucoup plus pauvre.
Au delà, dunes sèches et remaniées par le vent.

Fond inondé en hiver, à La Panne.
