English: Charing Cross. Not the original or on the original site, but a pseudo-replica by Edward Barry erected in 1863 outside Charing Cross station. Barry based his design on what was known of the original cross; an octagonal plan with eight statues of Eleanor that stood in what is now Trafalgar Square about 200 yards away. 343876 |
