Summary
[edit]DescriptionChapel of Our Lady of Good Voyage (16693848601).jpg |
Built in 1952 on Northern Avenue, the Chapel of Our Lady of Good Voyage, a small Catholic chapel belonging to South Boston's St. Vincent de Paul parish, was established for waterfront dockworkers, sailors and seafaring crews that docked in Boston. Today, it is engulfed by the changing landscape of Boston's seaport district. In fact, by the end of the 2015, the Chapel will move across the street to its new home. The original building will be torn down to make room for new projects. To me, it is a symbol of the struggle of Old and New Boston. |
