Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Chantry Lane, Bishopthorpe. Chantry Lane takes its name from the Chantry House, demolished in 1822, which was the home of the chantry priest near the old Church of St. Andrew. 574416 Local tradition has it that a certain Mr Guy Fawkes was born on Chantry Lane although this has never been proven one way or the other. http://www.bishopthorpe.net/mt/history/archives/2005/11/remember_rememb.html
