Summary
[edit]DescriptionChannel Tunnel construction depot - geograph.org.uk - 1632780.jpg |
English: Channel Tunnel construction depot. In the valley west of Aycliff. In the foreground right, a WWII lookout post which probably also mounted a radar. Dimly discerned on the left horizon are the remains of the three transmitter towers of the Swingate Chain Home RDF station. I'm not sure what the other vertical structure further right is. The A20 now passes through this valley. For the part of the depot occluded by Round Down see 1632798. You can just see Aycliff in the distant background, rather blurred. |
