Summary
[edit]DescriptionChanging a lock gate - geograph.org.uk - 328076.jpg |
English: Changing a lock gate This is at the Latchford locks on the Manchester Ship Canal. The vessel lifting the gate is the "250 Ton Crane", built in Holland in 1937 and powered by steam driving a DC generator. The boiler burns coal and is hand-fired. As far as I know this vessel is still in working order. |
