English: US Coast Guard Captain Brian D. Kelley (l), Commanding Officer of US Coast Guard Sector Baltimore, congratulates US Coast Guard Auxiliary member David Adams (r) of Division 25 (Potomac Guardian Division), after presenting him with the Commandant's Letter of Commendation (with operational device), at the division's inaugural Change of Watch and Awards Banquet, held at the Army-Navy Country Club. Auxiliarist Adams, along with auxiliarists June Gaines and Bill Berens, were awarded for rescuing seven people on July 17, 2008, on the lower end of the Potomac River, from an 18-foot boat which was taking on water and had smoke billowing from its engine. Four children, donning lifejackets and three adults, without lifejackets, were rescued from the sinking boat. The Auxiliary crew provided lifejackets to the three adults; began dewatering the sinking boat and towed it to a marina in Cole's Point, VA. The Division, formed January 1, 2009, was the result of the combination of Auxiliary Divisions 2 and 14, to better align with Coast Guard Sector Baltimore's recent reorganization.
