[edit]DescriptionChancel east window - geograph.org.uk - 1735004.jpg |
English: Chancel east window St.Giles' church at Holme has arguably the finest collection of medieval glass in Nottinghamshire.
The 14th century glass in the two outer lights came from Annesley church, given by Colonel Neville Chaworth-Musters. The three centre lights contain glass from Holme with the arms of (L)Barton & Bingham, (Centre)Barton and (R) Barton, Ratcliffe, Lee & Ashton. The three figures above show (L) a Priest in a red & gold chasuble, (Centre) a Bishop in Gold & Silver and (R) a figure in a white alb. All lovingly reconstructed by Nevil Truman in 1933. |
