Cham Homkar (Om) symbol

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cham Homkar (Om) symbol in Cham script (ꨀꨯꨱꩌ). It is the localized version of the “om” symbol. The phonetic reading of this symbol reveals elements of the Cham script, with the “a” “u” and “m” sounds represented and a symbolic approach reveals the numbers 3 on the bottom and 6 on the top, together make 9, a number signifying balance. This is complimented by the emblems of the sun and the moon in the center. The Homkar is an all-inclusive symbol that balances the universe, and can be found in important religious contexts like funerals and burial grounds, as well as other sacred rituals.
