Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The Dernière Relève, a sculpture by Gaston Broquet. It is a bronze work representing a half-squad with a lieutenant in front of artillerymen in the trenches. Its first objective was to pay tribute to the people of Châlon who died for France during the First World War. The monument now pays tribute to the victims of the Second World War, those who died in the Overseas Territories, then in Indochina, during the Algerian War, during peacekeeping operations in Lebanon, Chad and Afghanistan. It is located in rue de la Marne next to the cathedral.
