Description
English: Chalmer's House, Anstruther Not his birth place but a home he and his family moved to from lower down in the town.

Thomas Chalmer went on to become a distinguished mathematician, Minister of Kilmany, Professor of Moral Philosophy at St Andrews, the chair of Theology at Edinburgh and the first Moderator of the Free Church in 1843 after the upheaval of the disruption.

He died in Edinburgh on the 31st of May, 1847 aged 67
