Summary
[edit]DescriptionChain of Rocks Bridge .jpg |
The longest pedestrian/bicycle bridge in the world (1.6 km), crossing Mississippi River and joining Illinois with Missouri. It was originally service vehicle traffic as part of Route 66. The interesting thing about it is that it has a 22-degree horizontal bend in the middle. (We didn’t actually go through all of it. Cadence was tired, and I am a little bit afraid of huge bridges.) |
