Gesamtlänge: 127m, Spannweite: 50,5. - Der Kerstelenbachviadukt ist eines der imposantesten und meist fotografierten Bauwerke der Gotthardbahn. 1880 wurde die erste Fachwerkbrücke erstellt. 1890 folgte im Zug des Ausbaus der Gotthard-Nordrampe auf Doppelspur die zweite Brücke. Beide Brücken setzten sich aus je zwei 50m weit gespannten Einfeldträgern mit zweifach gekreuztem Strebenzug zusammen. Die erste, unterwasserseitige Brücke bestand aus Schweisseisen, während für die zweite bereits Flussstahl zur Anwendung kam. Im Zusammenhang mit der Elektrifizierung der Gotthardbahn wurden zwischen 1920 und 1922 die Fachwerkträger verstärkt, und die schweisseiserne Brücke wurde unterspannt. In dieser Form diente der Kerstelenbachviadukt bis 1970. In den Jahren 1970-1971 ersetzten die Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen (SBB) die Fachwerkbrücken durch je eine Stahl-Verbundbrücke mit Schottertrog aus Stahlbeton. Der mächtige Steinpfeiler und die Widerlager wurden mittels Injektionen instand gesetzt und konnten so für die neuen Überbauten weiter verwendet werden. Der Bahnbetrieb wurde während des gesamten Umbaus einspurig aufrecht erhalten.
