Summary

Description	Châlons-en-Champagne (Marne). Résidence du négociant Ferdinand Sipeyre. Ferdinand Sipeyre s'est d'abord installé, vers 1900, rue Compertrix. Son établissement porte l'inscription "VINS, COMMISSION, CONSIGNATION" sur des carreaux de céramique. Vers 1907, pour se rapprocher du centre-ville, le négociant Ferdinand Sipeyre installe sa résidence au 9 allées des Forêts, actuellement avenue du Maréchal Leclerc. Il fait construire sa grande demeure au fond du parc et au bord de l'allée un pavillon plus petit pour les bureaux. Le pavillon est élevé en briques provenant de la briqueterie de Dizy (Marne) distante d'un peu plus de 40 km de Châlons. Briqueterie qui a disparu, l'emplacement étant actuellement occupé par un lotissement. L’architecte, Octave Gélin, a gravé son nom et la date, 1910, au dessus du bandeau céramique à gauche de la porte. Le pavillon est aujourd'hui un cabinet médical. L'entrée principale est marquée des initiales entrelacées du négociant Ferdinand Sipeyre, au fronton de la grille. Les décors, treille, grappes de raisin, feuilles de vigne, vrilles, tiennent lieu d'enseigne et ne laissent aucun doute sur l'activité du propriétaire. Les décors en grès émaillé sont l'oeuvre des céramistes de Paris Gentil & Bourdet, céramistes dont de nombreuses réalisations sont aujourd’hui inscrites à l’inventaire des Monuments historiques. <a href="http://ceramique-architecturale.fr/thematiques/raison-raisin-facade" rel="nofollow">ceramique-architecturale.fr/thematiques/raison-raisin-facade</a> <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gentil_%26_Bourdet" rel="nofollow">fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gentil_%26_Bourdet</a>
