Royal Family Treasury Exhibition of Qing Dyansty Gold and Silver Implements From the Imperial Palace The "Ruyi" is an implement which represents goodness and fortune. It was made from gold, jade, bamboo and bone. The shape of the "ruyi" is in the form of a cloud and curve. It is used for pointing (indicating) or appreciation (appearances). It originated from a back-scratcher... Yang Yang Nao (itchy, itchy scratch )。 Therefore, everything is good and everything is fluent (no obstacles) as the time flies it becomes something to be appreciated. In the royal Qing Dynasty, "ruyi" was given to the governor as a gift from the emperor and empress. |
