| Description |
English: In the area north of the Rincon, in Madrid, the fences are abundant and are used, in addition to the cattle tracks, to mark pastures, orchards, meadows and labor lands. They are usually made of stone (shale, quartzite, gneiss and granite) and are usually topped with brambles, branches and trunks. As the purpose is to prevent the passage of cattle are of low height. In places where large slabs of granite or skirting are found, they are nailed as cairns, filling the space between the slabs with stones of different sizes or brambles.
Español: En la zona de de la sierra norte del Rincon, en Madrid, abundan los cercados y se utilizan, además de en las vías pecuarias, para acotar pastos, huertas, dehesas y tierras de labor. Suelen ser de piedra (esquisto, cuarcita, gneis y granito) y se suelen rematar con zarzas,ramas y troncos. Al ser la finalidad la de impedir el paso del ganado son de escasa altura. En los lugares en los que se encuentran grandes lajas de granito o esquito, se clavan a modo de mojones, rellenando el espacio que queda entre las lajas con piedras de distintos tamaños o zarzas. |
