Description
Nederlands: De centrumkerk van Paramaribo is te vinden aan de Grote Kerstraat en het Kerkplein. De kerk is gebouwd in het begin van de negentiende eeuw, als koepelkerk. Niet lang na de voltooiing van de kerk, brandde de kerk af en werd in simpelere vorm teruggebouwd. De koepel verdween, maar de Centrumkerk heeft nog steeds de vorm van een achthoekige koepelkerk. De vloer van de kerk bestaat voor een deel uit marmeren grafstenen uit de achttiende eeuw. Hiertussen zijn vooral namen met een Nederlandse oorsprong te achterhalen. De binnenzijde van de kerk is simpel en sober zoals we van een hervormde kerk gewend zijn. Opvallendste deel is het orgel van de beroemde orgelbouwer Naber uit 1846.
