Español: Casa-palacio de Don Juan Agustín Niño y Álvarez, el que fue alcalde ordinario de Tunja, nacido en Tunja, hijo de Don Francisco Antonio Niño y Santiago (descendiente directo de los Hermanos Niño de Moguer, concretamente de Pedro Alonso Niño) y Doña María Antonia Álvarez del Pino. Se casó en primeras nupcias en Tunja con Doña María Catalina Muelle y Lago; hijo único de este matrimonio, fue el célebre prócer de nuestra independencia, Doctor Juan Nepomuceno Niño.
Construida en el año 1770. Conjunto labrado en piedra de estirpe Dórico-Toscana, con entablamento y pilastras esculpidas en altorrelieve, cuyo esquema se acerca al estilo plateresco. Escudo de la familia Niño de Moguer, de forma Hispano-francesa con cinco flores de lis y bordura en contorno decorada con palmas y cintas en espiral de estilo Gótico- Isabelino. Secretaría de Cultura y Turismo en Tunja del Gobierno Federal. Sede actual del Instituto de Cultura y Bellas Artes de Boyacá (ICBA). |
