Description
Français : Les projets d'aménagements hydroélectriques sur cette partie de la rivière voient le jour après la Grande Guerre, et se concrétisent par l'achèvement de la liaison HT vers Saint-Etienne, Loire, en 1925.

L'usine que l'on aperçoit sur la photo ouvre dans la foulée.

Les installations se révélant vite insuffisantes, de nouveaux travaux sont entrepris, retardés par le 2nd conflit mondial.

L'ensemble est aujourd'hui alimenté par 3 barrages et un réseau de conduites forcées. Selon l'exploitant, les ouvrages assurent une production annuelle dimensionnée pour 35 000 hab., soit 2 fois la population du Puy, chef-lieu de département.[1]

Le viaduc de la route de Saugues, passe juste au-dessus de l'usine.
