Description
English: The Corliss Centennial engine
Quoted from page 97: "For future reference, a plate is presented (Fig. 53) showing a large perspective view of the engines ... There were two condensing beam-engines, which were proportioned to work expansively, with a steam-pressure of 80 pounds. ... The cylinders were each 40 inches in diameter, with 10-feet stroke of piston. ..." Originally printed as a 2-page spread.
