Cemitério Santa Isabel
Este cemitério, conhecido como "Bizantino", foi criado em 1855, após um surto de cólera que atingiu a região. Na época, um grande número de epidemias aumentava o índice de mortalidade dos povoados, e, para evitar contaminações, foi proibido em todo o país que os corpos fossem enterrados nas igrejas. Alguns masoléus possuem adornos e decorações que imitam as igrejas da época. Embora não siga um único estilo arquetônico, alguns adereços deste cemitério são do estilo gótico, marcado por formas pontiagudas. |
