Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Cell response to normal and stressful conditions. (a) Under normal conditions, tissue homeostasis is achieved via stem cell differentiation and proliferation which leads to mature cells that will die. Stress cues can induce apoptosis or cause the cell to react in several ways to minimise tissue damage (b). Image is adapted from Shoshani and Zipori (2011).
