Title |
English: Cedar Trees along Cemetery Wall |
||||
Description |
English: Evergreen trees grow in a row along the top of a stone retaining wall in the interior of a cemetery, between the wall and uniform rows of grave markers. Eastern red cedar trees grow along the top of the retaining wall. Plans from the War Department and the NPS indicate that the locations and species of these plantings are consistent with the earliest planting efforts undertaken at Fort Donelson National Cemetery. Over time, the NPS has installed replacement cedar trees to maintain the historic character. *Subject: National Cemeteries
