Description Cedar Falls forms the head of Queer Creek Gorge in the scenic Hocking Hills of southeastern Ohio. Most of the falls is a cascade, but terminates in a drop. The cascade portion splits around a promontory. The rocks are sandstones to pebbly sandstones of the Lower Mississippian Black Hand Sandstone, traditionally interpreted as an ancient delta deposit. Modern work has shown it is an incised valley fill complex.
