Description

These beautiful saturnid moths (Hyalophora cecropia) are native to North America.

  • Males are most commonly seen when they are confused by lights while following the scent of female pheromones. The adult moths live only a few weeks; just long enough to propagate the next generation. Saturnid moths do not eat nor have they ate since before pupation in Fall the previous year. This one is a female. She has smaller feathery antennae then the male.
