Les éléments plans qui prolongent les surfaces latérales et le toit de la remorque créent une cavité qui organise le tourbillon occupant la surface du hayon. Cette organisation du tourbillon réduit un peu la traînée de culot de la remorque (de 5 % sur une remorque de camion mais de 8 % sur un autocar).
