Title |
Cauldron/Skillet Foot |
||
Description |
English: Copper-alloy leg from a medieval or post-medieval cooking vessel, perhaps a cauldron or skillet. This is a short rectangular-sectioned leg with a bevelled base resulting in the bottom of the leg forming a narrow edge. The leg has broken at the junction with the body of the vessel, and rises to become expanded, with a concave upper surface.
The patina and corrosion of the fragment suggests burning, as would be expected with a cooking vessel. |
