| Description |
English: Cattle grid. Carman Reservoir lies on the right-hand side of the road, behind the wall that is visible at the top of the embankment.
This cattle grid marks the eastern end of the open moorland on the southern side of Carman Hill. There is another one at the western end of the moor: 1179857. Here, just as with the other cattle grid, walkers need to be wary when using the stretch of road that lies beyond. There is no pavement, but there are many blind bends. Some drivers sound their horn in warning when approaching corners; others just race on. |
