Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Small map of the Southern Netherlands (generally called Catholic Netherlands by the French). The area knows historically as the Southern Netherlands was a geographical rather than a political entity. It included the Spanish (later Austrian) Netherlands, the independent states of Liège, Stavelot-Malmédy and Bouillon, as well as areas to the south (such as the Artois) that had long been annexed to France when this map was printed in 1748.
