English: Portrait of Catherine Charlotte de Gramont (1639-1678), wife of Louis I, Prince of Monaco (1642-1701).
"This miniature has been identified on the basis of an early inscription on the reverse as Catherine-Charlotte de Gramont, daughter of Antoine, duc de Gramont and the wife of Louis I de Grimaldi (1642-1701), Prince of Monaco from 1662. The minature bears comparison with a portrait of this sitter by Pierre Mignard (unrecorded location; Monaco). Inscribed on the reverse in an eighteenth-century hand: 'Charlotte de Grammont femme de Louis' [the remainder erased]."
