Cntlicdrnl II plants. There are, also, a refrigeratingplant and washing machines that areoperated by electricity. The machinery of the governmentpower-plant consists of two 75 k. w. Gen-eral Electric Company 2-phase, 2300-voltgenerators running at 900 r. p. m., eachbelt-driven by a 50-inch diameter Peltonwater wheel unit. The original plant hadbut the one unit and it is still installed,with no regulatingneedle valve or gov-ernor mechanism,but just controlledby a plain 10-inchgate valve. The sec-ond unit added bythe government hasan adjustable belt-tightener as well as amodern Pelton gover-nor equipment. The4-wire 2300-volt linesleave the station ona very neat system ofline and pole con-struction. Outdoortransformers stepdown the voltagefrom 2300 to 112-220volts.
