of Accounts. A general average of 70 per cent,with a special average of 75 percent in English, Bookkeepingand Arithmetic, is required for graduation. Promotions and Rating For promotion to a higher class a student is required tohave a general average of 70 per cent. A mark between60 and 70 in any study indicates that the student is con-ditioned, but may remove the deficiency by a special exami-nation. Any mark below 60 will be rejected as failure, andwill necessitate the repetition of the study in a lower class. The students proficiency is determined by daily recita-tions, study-hall tasks, oral and written reviews. In the val-uation of a students work the following system of rating isadopted : Grade I, 100 - 95 per cent — Excellent. Grade II, 95 - 90 per cent — Very good. Grade III, 90 - 80 per cent — Good. Grade IV, 80 - 75 per cent — Satisfactory. Grade V, 75 - 70 per cent — Passable. Grade VI, 70 - 60 per cent — Unsatisfactory.Below 60 per cent — Failure.(Twenty-two

Courseof St. Marys College Candidates for admission must present satisfactory testi-monials of good moral character ; if coming from other insti-tutions they must produce certificates of honorable dismissal. For admission to advanced standing, candidates mustshow by examination that they have successfully finished thestudies of the classes of St. Marys College preceding thatwhich they propose to enter. From schools of high standingstudents will be admitted to the Freshman class without anexamination on presentation of the Principals certificate thatthey have successfully completed a four-year course coveringan amount of work equivalent to that demanded in the Aca-demic Course of St. Marys College.
