No place should be without this really valuable climber. It is praised by all who have seen it laden with it* hundreds of beautiful crimson flowers. Price lO cents each. Two-year-old Plants, 4-0 cents each. The plant is vigorous in growth, making shoots from eight to ten feet during the season. A charming pillar Rose. It is also magnfficent in bush form or for covering buildings trel- lises, etc. One of the striking charac- teristics of this Rose is its remarkable color, which is of the brightest crim- son, and remains undimmed to the end. The flowers are produced in great pyramidal panicles or trusses, each carrying a large number of blooms. The individual flowers are of good size, and remain perfect on the plant for a length of time with fresh- ness of color unimpaired. Pruning should be done in the early Spring, before the plants com- mence to grow, aud the desired shape of the plants should be kept constantly in mind while they are being pruned. PROTECTION.—The tender orrbloomivg class may be protected during the Winter in the following manner: First, cut out all the soft or unripened wood, and remove most of the leaves: then take a little of the soil from one side of the bush to allow it to bend over easily. Bend it over to the ground and cover the whole plant with two tofour inches of dirt. Over this place four to six inches of leaves, and keep in place with boards or boughs. Defer covering for Winter until cold weather sets in. as moderate freezing will not in- jure them. In places where Winters are not very severe, many of the varieties of everblooming Poses are nearly This splendid new variety is a sport from that famous Rose. The flowers are large, full and regular, with thick leathery petals, and delic- iously tea scented ; makes beautiful buds; as an out- door climbing Rose it will take frout rank, because of its strong growth and freedom of bloom. It has been called the " Perpetual Blooming Jacque- minot" because of its freedom of bloom and its splendidly formed flowers, which resemble that splendid variety. Climb- ing Meteor is a sport from Meteor, a fragrant, free-blooming Hybrid Tea Rose, one of the highly prized and vahied varie- ties. Climbing Meteor is of strong, vigorous habit of growth, producing in great profusion throughout the season magnifi- cently formed buds and flowers, which are in color a dark velvety crimson, the equal of any Rose in cultivation, and, if anything, more glowing than" its illustrious parent. 15 cents; two-year-old plants, 40 cents each.
