24 SOMETHING NEW AND VALUABLE, SWAINSONIA ELEGANS. The Prettiest Plant oj any in our Collection. This is the prettiest all round plant for house culture we know of. It is of such easy culture that everybody succeeds with it. It is a rapid grower, and in a short time makes a handsome, compact bush, as it naturally grows into a shape- ly plant. The foliage is deep green, small, like shown in cut. It bears its panicles six inches long, of pure white, pea-shaped flowers in the greatest profusion, and of the sweetest fragrance. Indeed, it is as sweet in perfume as Sweet Peas We have been cultivating it for the past two years, and it is seldom out of flower either Win- ter or Summer. Be sure and try it, as it will cer- tainly please you. Price, 15 cents each; two for 25 cents NEW AND SCARCE GLADIOLI. Price, 10 cents each; or the set of six for 50 cents. Charles Dickens.—Delicate rose, tinted with buff, and flamed and striped carmine-rose. Cleopatra —Soft lilac, the lower petals ot a darker hue, suf- fused violet-purple, feathered and blotched. Isaac Buchanan. — Beautiful canary-yellow, on a splendid spike of large flowers. The best yellow. Bio Leopold.—Blush rose, slightly suffused orange, and shaded currant-red, white blotch. Romulus.—A very brilliant, glossy, dark red, large, broad, white line on lower petals, with a pure white blotch. La Candeur.—Large flowers of purest white, lightly striped with carmine-violet. The nearest approach to a pure white. FINE NAMED GLADIOLI. Price, 8c each; six for 40c. The entire set of fourteen for 75c. Angele.—White, showy and effective. Bernard de Jessieu.— violet, shaded cherry and purple,blotch on white ground. Canarii —A light yellow, streaked with rose on the lower petals. Ceres.—Pure white, spotted purplish-rose. Conde.—Light orange-red, white blotch, feathered carmine. Ida.—White ground, slightly tinted rose, flamed carmine-rose, lower petals light yellow. Jean d'Arc.—White, tinged with rose, streaked carmine. John Bull.—White, tinged with sulphur Laura.—Light orange-red, flamed carmine, white blotch. Le Poussin.—A light red, white blotch, beautiful. Madame Monneret—A delicate, lovely pink, with a white stripe in the center of e;ich petal, carmine blotch. Marie Dumortier.—White, streaked rose, violet-purple blotch. Stella.—White, tinged yellow and rose, flamed carmine. Thuuburg.—Light orange, shaded cherry, white blotch. The entire set of Named Gladioli (twenty sorts) including new set, for $1.00. FOUR BEAUTIFUL PALMS FOR 50 CENTS. The following is a select list of rare and handsome varieties that can be recommended for apartments, conservatories, deco- rations or vase plants during Summer. They are all grand plants, and of the easiest culture. We can furnish extra large Palms that are fine specimens at from $3.00 to $5.00 each. Palm, Washington Filiferti, or the Thread Palm.—A beautiful Palm is one ot the finest additions that can be made to any collection of plants, but the high prices of the best varieties have prevented most people from possessing one. Then, again, there are but fewof the best sons that succeed well with ordinary window culture. It is,therefore, with pleas- ure that we are now able to ofler one ot the most Deau- tiful sorts in existence. Price, 16 cents each; or four for 60 cents. Latauia Barhonica.—The well-known favorite Fan-Palm, beau- tiful in all stages of growth. Price, 16 cents each; or four for 50 cents. Seaforthia Elegans.- This is a most graceful Palm, eminently adapted for decoration of the greenhouse or garden. It also makes a fine window plant. Leaves are long and gracefully arched, dark-green, and the whole plant is perfectly smooth, making it a grand decorative plant. Price, 20 cents each. Aureca Lutescens.—One of the most valuable and beautiful Palms in cultivation. Its dark, glossy-green leaves are gracefully curved on stems, and the entire foliage is grace- fully disposed. The trunk and stems are golden-yellow. Price, 20 cents each. SPECIAL OFFER—The above four elegant Palms for 50 cents. CROTONS. The Crotons are among the finest decorative foliage plants known. The leaves of all are more or less veined ana mar- gined, sometimes entirely variegated with shades of yellow, or- ange and crimson. Some have long, narrow leaves, arching gracefully fountain fashion, others broad and short, oak-leaved. Some recurve very much, others twisted, corkrscrew like. Cro- tons love heat, sunshine and moisture. The Crotons are fast be- coming one of our most beautiful bedding plants. Price, 10 cents each.

The flowes embrace all of the most delicate sh de sof orange, sulphur,creamy-white, etc , changing from one distinct odor to another as thry increase in age and development. The varieties we have give a wide range of color, and include the most distinct and profuse varieties. Price, 8 crnts each; six. our selection, for 40 cents. Azalea Indies. One of the most gor- geous bloom- ing families, together with! the showiest' of all green- house plar: The colors of the flower vary from the purest white to the deepest^* cri m son injp* untold varia-l tions. The soil should always be packed hardj when trans- planted. Suc- cess depends, however, o n the degree of moisture i n the atmos- phere in which they live. We have a number of the best flowering sorts that will flower finely this coming Winter, both double and single-flowered, in any color desired. The plants we offer are mapnificent specimens, the finest you have ever seen, and all will bloom this year. Price, 50 cents each; fine, large plants, three years old, "° cents each. , N.
