They are perfectly hardy, and may be planted as an edging to a bed, or in clumps or masses, where they are doubly welcome, flowering early in the season with the Snowd.-ops, and lasting a long time in perfection. They Will thrive well in any good garden soil, and are ad.Tiirable for pot culture for winter blooming in the house and for forcing for cut flowers. (See cui.) Lucillse. Charming bright blue with large clear white centre. 2 c per doz,, .^r.oo per loo, §3.oo per i.ooo. SardensiS. Intense deep true blue; in masses its brilhant color catches the eye at a great distance. 2 for 5c., 200. per , v'*-25 per 100, §10.00 per 1,000. Gigantea. (iVeiv.) A great acquisition, differing from all othtrs of this family by its unusually large fioweis of lovely lilac blue with conspicuous white centre. Is thoroughly hardy, and a pcrffct gem for spring decoration in masses in the garden, and when grown in pots for win- ter flowering it is beautifully effective. These are among the most beautiful and inter- esting winte • and spring flowering bulbs fur the window and greenhouse. .\ot only arc the flowers of st>iking beauty, but the foliage is also highly ornamental, consequently they are very decorative, even when not in bloom. There are no plants belter adapted for pot culture, ai d few that produce such a profusion of bloom; the flowers range through many shades, pink, crim- son, white, etc., some bi:ing beautifully spotted.
