The course of study includes the necessary elements in thetraining of teachers: (i) Educational theory. The history of education, psyschol-°gy> Pedagogy, organization and management of schools, theprinciples and art of teaching, and methods. (2) A thorough study of the subject-matter of the elementaryschool curriculum. (3) Observation of model teaching. (4) Practice in teaching under expert supervision. Requirements of Admission Both sexes are admitted. 1. Residence. All candidates must be residents of New Jersey. 2. Age. They must be at least sixteen years old. 3. Scholarship. Applicants can satisfy the scholarship re-quirements in either of two ways: a. By certification. Two classes of candidates are admitted oncertificates without examination: (1) Graduates of a four-years course of a high school on theApproved List. This course must include algebra and planegeometry.

By written examinations, which shall give satisfactory evi-dence of an education equivalent to that required by a (1) above. Applicants for admission by examination must present them-selves on the Monday preceding the opening of the term at 10A. M., i. e.) on Monday, January 27th, 1913, or on Monday,September 15th, 1913. Notice of intention to take Fall examina-tions must be filed with the principal on or before September 1st,1913, accompanied by a full statement of high school recordsigned by the principal of the school from which the applicantcomes. Candidates from, high schools not on the Approved Listshould communicate at once with Hon. Calvin NL Kendall. Com-missioner of Education, Trenton, New Jersey. 4. Health. All candidates must present certificates from phy-sicians stating that they are in good health and are free from allphysical defects that unfit them for teaching. The Committe
