LOUISVILLE, KY. HE IA SEI. Seven of the Best Roses for the Garden. In inch Pots, 50 cents ; in inch Pots, (express only,) $1.75. PINK LA FRANCE (Hybrid Tea Rose). Wo have always given this the first place, the queen of all the roses. Ac- counts come to us, from all quarters, every year, d(?- scribiuiT the great i iofuslon of its bloom from June to frost, and extolling its fra- grance and immense size; it is of superb form and dou- ble as a rose can be. No va- riety can surpass it in deli- cate coloring, silv(rv rose shades, with pink. It has a satin sheen over its petals. It is universally regarded as the most useful of roses, for it is hardy beyond question. It blooms continuous'ly. The flower is large, finely built, endures for a great length of time, is exquisitely col- ored, and fragrant in the highest degree. A rose of uhieh no one can have too many. Price, 10 cents; large size, 25 cents. \\'HITE LA FRANCE (Aug- ustine Guinnoisseaii). Here 4ve have a beauty indeed, one we can recommend to all, whether for out-door culture or for pots in the houae in winter. If you were to ask us to select six of the very finest roses for you, we should be sure to include it in the six. i>o you know La France? If so. you know this elegant rose. It is identical with Li France, except the color, it is pearly white, sometimes itintc'd with fawn. We pre- dict for it far more pupu larity than La France ever attained. Don't fail to get this rose. Price, IC cents: large size, 25 cents. THE RED LA FRANCE (or Duchess of Albany). It Is ide-n- (tical with La France, excepting in three points. Those sire: a more vigorous growth, a larger and more ex- +)an<le<l flower, jind a deep, even pink in color; not shaded, but what is called a solid color. Ladles prefer It on account of Its benntlful color to any other rose for personal adornment, as it shows up well against either light or dark dress goods to a charming advantage. The srr<^»wrh of the i)lt\\\t is exceedingly vigorous, and the flowers, which are thrown up well above the foliage, are produced in extraordinary profusion, the plant being covered with handsome flowers, i'ou will make nc mis- take to plnnt this rose largely. Price, 10 cents; large size. 25 cents. STRIPED LA FRANCE. fMndnme Angeliqoe Veyssett.) Rvervbody knows the benutiful I-a France—a rose that always had such a ready sale that the demand hits never bpen fully met. Striped La Franco combines all the good qualities of La France in growth, fragrance, shape of bud and flower; in faet diflers from it only in two points. First, it is freer in bloom than the parent; sec- ond, it is nicely striped, the marking being plain and distinct, the vnriegntion a beautiful bright rose on a sntin-pink ground. This rose has received several certi- ficates of merit, as shown before the rose societies In this country as well as in Europe. I'rice, 10 cents; large size, 25 cents.
