Stewart and Gee is used asa laboratory guide In addition to the regular course, arrangements can bemade by which students so desiring may continue their workin physics during the senior year. The laboratory has been supplied with the nucleus of alibrary of works on physics. These works are used for refer-ence by the students. PHYSICS IN THE HIGH SCHOOL. The course in the high school extends through the tenthgrade or intermediate class. The olass work is supplementedby laboratory7 exercise, not less than four hours per week beingdevoted to the subject. Gages Introduction to Physical Science is used in classand laboratory. The experiments given by the author are inpart omitted, others of a more quantitative nature being sub-stituted. Records are kept of each experiment made and these arewritten under four headings: (1) apparatus; (2) manipulation;(3) observation; (4) conclusion. These reports are submittedto the instructor, and returned for correction when necessary.

Holding needle, thimble and tools, is taught:also basting, running, felling, hemming, stitching, back-stitch-ing, gathering and over-casting. Second Term, Plain sewing such as making pillow cases,sewing on undergarments, buttonhole making and braidingare begun. Second Year-First Term. Tucking, darning, herring-bone stitching, feather-stitching, quilting garments by hand or machine, are taught. Second Term, Instruction is given in Mexican drawn work, canvas-work, tatting and first course in Ladies Tailor System, also instruction by object lesson. Third Year. First Term. Dressmaking is continued, also the finishingand trimming of dresses, taking measures for garments, bast-ing and fitting dresses. Second Term. In this term is taught the completion ofthe Ladies Tailor System of dressmaking, arocheting in threadand worsted, rug making stamping, and second course inembroide
