Picture of Catalina de Erauso from her autobiography. [1] archive copy at the Wayback Machine Modified by Dcoetzee and Error, who cropped it, brightened it, and cleaned up the background and border. Original in public domain because of expired copyright; changes released into public domain by modifiers.

Catalina was a Basque woman daughter and syster of soldiers from the city of San Sebastian. She was left to become a nun but abandoned the monastery at the age of fifteen years and started a long travel, always through contacts with other Basques, reaching America's colonies and entering as soldier under several captains, including her own brother, who she murdered along with a lot more of people.

Her autobiography can be found actually in digital library.[2] archive copy at the Wayback Machine
