Description
Deutsch: Detail des Castorschreins in der ehemaligen Stiftskirche St. Castor in Karden, 15. Jahrhundert, wiederhergestellt 1858, Tannenholz, matt vergoldet; Reliefs: Christus thronend und segnend, Maria mit dem Kind, St. Petrus und St. Castor. Im Bild: Maria mit dem Kind. Trotz Sicherung brach der weithin bekannte Kunstdieb Stéphane Breitwieser im Februar 2017 die Skulptur aus dem Schrein heraus. Zwei Jahre später konnte die Polizei in Wiesbaden sie bei einem Hehler sicherstellen. Seit Februar 2021 ist das Relief nach Restaurierung im Atelier der Restauratorin Katrin Ettringer an seinem Platz zurück; die durch den Raub an dem Kunstwerk verursachten Schäden waren verhältnismäßig gering.
