English: Castle Valley in Emery County, Utah, one of the most remote places a road tripper in the US is ever likely to go through.
Today, Interstate 70, which connects Denver, Colorado to points west (including Las Vegas and Los Angeles via I-15), traverses this area. Between Salina to the west and Green River to the east, this 110-mile stretch has no motorist services of any kind (no fuel, no food, no lodging), save for this rest stop (which, like most US interstate highway rest stops, offers no concessions). This Native American craft display has objects for sale, although selling any items is technically illegal at Utah rest stops. |
