Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Castle Lodge, Ludlow. On Castle Square, this Elizabethan town mansion is said to have more oak panelling than any other house in England. It dates from the 13th century and was once a prison. It was rebuilt in 1580. In Tudor times it was home to Elizabeth I's Master of Requests. The privately owned house is still inhabited and was reopened to the public in 1999.
