Summary
[edit]DescriptionCastle Cottage - geograph.org.uk - 1747454.jpg |
English: Castle Cottage. Castle Cottage was probably carefully named when it had a good view of Plympton's 12th century Motte and Bailey Castle. Perhaps in those days there were fewer trees around. As this photo shows the views one might expect to see when you study an Ordnance Survey map do not take into account possible changes in vegetation and tree growth. From the top of the Plympton Castle the Castle Cottage can only just be seen in the winter through the branches of the trees, but certainly not in the summer with the trees in full leaf. 1747435 |
